Passed out from college, more than 2 years passed, joined IT company, enjoying work, celebrating moments, having fun at parties, getting fat pay checks ,…. but what next ?????????

Is it what we thought to be? Is it the ambition we have in mind ? Is it our goal ? Are we on the right track ? These questions coming on mind not from yesterday but from the early days of entering the market or say even before that. Every time, thinking and brainstorming about ideas, new ideas, that could have revolutionary impact on people lives. Still, remembered about early days when we started reading about entrepreneurship, successful entrepreneurs, following them, attending seminars, meet-ups, start-up events and a lot more. What was that.. interest, fun .. NO . In real, its an itch that you just can’t ignore. We (I and @Vari) started out listing each idea we get and started brainstorming on that during weekends. Selected 1 idea , started working on that with speed of tortoise and after a month passed, one of us feel like having doubt on our idea. So, dropped out that and again select another idea and process repeats for number of times. We know that we are wasting our time but we have nothing in hands.

Christmas holidays for 1 week, leave all the work and just discussing about the things we have done in past year and both of us was speechless as we have same words – started working and then stopped without any solid reason – it seems as like stupidity. Our friend Pankaj who is a medical student with no knowledge of computers already busy in promoting his blog (www.presentmam.com) and asking us everyday about our achievements. He used to say build anything but do that and do that fast, we really ignored him at that time. Spend 1 complete day figuring out the reason for this and outcome we have is delay in making any thing. Our speed is too less that one of us started losing faith in our idea before it completely comes out in market. That was the day we realized this way is just like a circle, you kept on moving and then came to same starting point. So, we pledged to start with some fresh concept and make it even if we know that its complete failure .

That 1 week comes out with approx. 40 hours of brainstorming and 50+ ideas written on paper, filtering out each idea and at last we came up with ‘education portal for students’ where they can share study material. But it raises new problem i.e. chicken and egg problem. No student will come until we have content in our portal and students will not share anything unless they see strong user base. So, we started out with content creation but it was not an easy job. Again, one more bad side from our end, we have not analyzed it properly and start building product.

One evening, we were discussing about viral apps and reason why they became viral and found that most of the apps are just small games with small hacks that makes users addictive to play all the time & goes viral without much solid reason. We planned to make game then (:D) . We chooses facebook as a medium to start with and small application to develop. Idea came up for #MadVsMath (thanks Ankit Bagga for suggesting us the name). After lot of discussions, brainstorming, R&D and yes dedication we came up with one simple and small facebook application: MadVsMath presented by 38Candies.com (MadVsMath is a mathematical fun game for childrens)

But story doesn’t end here , it still needs lot of efforts to get it into the market. Lots of time we got stucked due to unwanted reasons. The first one that delayed us for long was #SSL certificate. As to launch any app on facebook, you must have SSL installed but we were trying to be too frugal at times and not in mood of spending extra bucks for that, which takes away long period from us and at last takes money from our pockets. After that, all interface of game become crumbled as mistakenly we replaced ‘width’ by ‘weight’ in our code due to hurry of launch. Worst thing happens when our system where all the code were present crashes and we do not have copy of code present anywhere else.

Lesson learnt: Always have backup of your code/data even if you are too fast in coding or experienced in managing.

At last, application completed, website is up, email ID created and we have list of issues on paper. Spend about 10 hrs in fixing major ones.

(August 3,2014) 10PM in night, launched our first app #MadVsMath – Powered by 38Candies with list of errors in that (still- the best moments).
